Blossom Pink Blue Green

It's always a surprise in Spring when trees that have been unremarkable for most of the year suddenly burst into a froth of pink and white blossom.  In the orchards, the apples and pears bloom in carefully tended rows, but out on the field margins, crab apple and cherry trees are left to grow as they will.  In this picture the trees are carpeting the fresh grass with petals and showering the horses underneath.  In the background the hills seem a more intense shade of blue than usual, while, in the distance the snowy mountains are a memory of winter not quite yet passed.
